Inland Marine Service Announces New Agreement to Operate ARTCO Vessels
Tuesday, September 24, 2019
Inland Marine Service (IMS) welcomes American River Transportation Company
(ARTCO) as their latest client, as announced today by Dave Hammond,
President of IMS. As a result of the vessel management deal, IMS will be
responsible for operating 5 of ARTCO’s large line-haul towboat vessels and
managing 90+ crew members.
“It’s
an honor to be working with ARTCO’s marine transportation team! The entire 800+ proud, professional mariners
of Inland Marine Service are excited to maintain health and safety standards,
ensure navigational safety, take on complex compliance issues, and provide
continuous improvement for each ARTCO vessel we are entrusted to operate. Our primary goal is to add great value to
ARTCO,” said Dave Hammond, President of IMS.
This
latest deal is representative of the rapid growth and expansion currently
happening at IMS. Earlier this year, IMS partnered with James Marine to form
Mavericks Towboat Solutions, which just completed its first purchase of 7
harbor boats from Ingram Barge Company. Earlier this month, IMS completed a
deal with TVT, resulting in the operation of TVT’s entire fleet of more than 20
towboats on the Inland Waterways. IMS
currently employs 800+ professional mariners, manages 57 vessels, owns 7
vessels, and is growing every day.
ARTCO
is the latest company to benefit from Inland Marine Service’s turn-key
solutions, which ensures that each client is instantly compliant with personnel
and shore-side management requirements of Sub-M. IMS undergoes all audits in
place of their clients and saves them from having to hire safety and compliance
personnel. IMS compliance programs are immediate, approved and certified in the
changing regulatory worlds of the Responsible Carrier Program, TMSA, and SIRE.
The
American River Transportation Company (ARTCO) operations include: line-haul
vessels, harbor boats, covered hopper barges, tank barges, harbor and fleeting
services, and a full service shipyard. These assets allow ARTCO to deliver
products to their final destination in a safe and efficient manner. ARTCO also
provides a third party towing service on the Lower Mississippi, Upper
Mississippi, Illinois, and Ohio River.
