Safety is a core concept at IMS and the basis upon which we operate. We are dedicated to promoting a culture in which the safety and protection of our co-workers, environment, and our customers’ equipment is paramount. As leaders in safety over the last 30 years, we are one of the first brown water maritime companies to create and implement a safety management system.

Our CEO, Cathy S. Hammond, has long served on the Transportation Safety Advisory Committee in Washington D.C. and has held various positions within the American Waterways Operators. IMS is highly active in all U.S. Coast Guard Notice of Proposed Rule Makings (NPRM) in our industry. We are dedicated to providing people with the knowledge to navigate safer water, and to continuously improve safety in the maritime industry.

In 2011, Inland Marine Service, Inc. created a program called, “Mariners helping Mariners.” This program was designed to assist our fellow maritime companies in understanding U.S. Coast Guard regulations, EPA requirements, and general OSHA compliance requirements.
