“Over twenty-three years ago a captain friend of mine called me and asked if I wanted a job. The pay was good, so I said sure. On May 29, 1988, I took my wife Donna with me to meet my new boss, David Hammond, Sr., on the MV Queen City. We found a very nice young entrepreneur with the gift of gab and a dream. He was cooking burgers for the boat crew while they were busy cleaning and painting. A few days later, with the help of David’s wife, Cathy, Inland Marine Service launched their line haul vessel management company. It has progressed ever since–some baby steps and some giant steps–but always moving forward. As I look back, the reason why my wife and I have spent so many years with this company is the people. We have met and made friends with so many wonderful people. Dave Jr., Holly, and Cathy are at the helm now and David Sr. is behind the scenes. It is still good to see his dream come true of becoming one of the largest towing companies in the industry, and Donna and I are proud to be a small part of it.”
